Out Of The Mud
Came A Lotus
OUT OF THE MUD CAME A LOTUS is the true story of mystic and ritual keeper Laura Bushnell.
In this intimate and poetic memoir, Laura shares the path she’s walked — from a sensitive child in rural Idaho with a deep bond to nature and animals, to a woman called into sacred service through dreams, signs, and Spirit.
Born with intuitive gifts and a heart that felt everything, Laura faced early trauma, profound loss, and a sense of not belonging. But through these challenges, she found her purpose — learning to listen, to trust, and to heal.
This book is a journey through awakening, forgiveness, and the quiet power of remembering who we are. It is an offering of hope, resilience, and love — for anyone walking their own path of becoming.

Laura Bushnell Book’s Chapters
Out of the Mud, Came a Lotus
Chapter 1
This begins in the mud of my childhood– a world of silence, violence, and loss — yet even there, my earliest gifts of intuition and sight were already breaking through the cracks.
Chapter 2
“In Chapter Two, The Door Opens, I step into the conscious part of my journey. With three little ones in Idaho and A Course in Miracles in my hands, the voices of the Council of Mothers arrived. Through automatic writing, prayer, and mystical signs, the inner doors of my life began to open.”
Chapter 3
“In Chapter Three, Love and Loss, the writing and gatherings began. Without a plan, I opened my home for A Course in Miracles, and women came — then their mothers, their children, and their grandmothers. The Council of Mothers spoke through me, guiding a path I could not yet see.”
Chapter 4
“In Chapter Four, End of the Fire, I tried to quiet the visions and hold on to the life I knew, but Spirit had other plans. My marriage ended, illness came, and I found myself alone with my children. A dream called me away from my old world and into a new life — and I had to answer.”
